This weekend, I went rock climbing with one of my best friends, Krista. Reflecting on our climbing experience, many truths came to light: the importance of patience, perseverance and trust. In rock climbing, these characteristics helped us make it to the top of the rock each time. In life, these characteristics are crucial in building solid relationships with each other. I’m grateful that we started off 2012 with a climb—a visual reminder to trust ourselves and others, to move forward tenaciously and to plan our paths with faithful steps. It’s a new year, with new beginnings and a fresh start of each of us.
